Fidel is a new member of UR POLIS, joining this year as a Member at Large. Having experienced politics in both the Philippines and Canada, he brings a valuable international perspective to the association.
Fidel believes that real change begins with participation. His family has long been involved in public service, with three former mayors among his relatives, and community engagement has always been part of their legacy. Inspired by that tradition, Fidel hopes to continue giving back to his community by pursuing a future career in politics, likely at the provincial level.
Outside of academics, Fidel and his family are active in Regina’s Filipino community, often taking part in events like RAKRAKAN, as well as their community’s annual summer camping trip and Christmas party.
His favourite course so far has been CLAS 290AD: Ancient World in Film, which combines two of his interests, film and history, and deepened his understanding of how stories from the past are reimagined through cinema.

Member(s) at Large’s responsibilities:
To aid the association executive in the planning and execution of association events;
To work with members and the executive committee to ensure that future terms will have sufficient interest so as to sustain a healthy and thriving student association;
Such other duties as deemed appropriate on occasion by the association executive posed in motions.
