Isabelle is a new member on UR POLIS. She is one of three members at large, and is excited to be a part of planning engaging and informative events throughout the school year.
Isabelle chose to major in PPE because she liked the idea of a degree that allowed her to approach important issues from 3 different perspectives, each of which highlights a different aspect of the issue. She believes this degree is ideal for any student that wants to work in government, law, or public policy because it helps develop critical thinking skills and the ability to consider complex topics from more than one perspective.
When she is not studying, Isabelle can be found playing rec volleyball, learning a new craft, or reading.
So far Isabelle’s favourite PAIS class was PPE 200. Her advice for PAIS students is “Go to your professors' office hours. Your professors are knowledgeable people who are constantly doing research, if you show any interest at all, you will end up in an interesting conversation where you get to learn something new.”
Isabelle’s favourite UR POLIS event is the Case Policy Competition.
