Eric is serving as President for the second time and was formerly the Secretary.
His honours thesis allows him to dive deeper into topics he enjoys. Eric is also an experienced TA and has conducted research for both Dr. Grafton and Dr. McIntosh. One of his favourite courses is Dr. McIntosh’s PSCI 373: Laws and Sausages: Public Policy in Canada. He also loves to discuss one of his many passions during class: the history of Saskatchewan politics. Eric has been incredibly involved on campus since his first year in university and is a model student in and out of the classroom.
Outside of academics, Eric is a world traveler. If you can’t find him in a board meeting or class, he is likely on an adventure of his own. He is also heavily involved in coaching youth curling, political volunteering, and is Vice President of the Retail Wholesale Department Store Union Local 539 in Regina. Additionally, he serves on the board of the Regina Community Clinic.
As a student leader in the PAIS department, Eric constantly inspires new students to strive for excellence. Eric’s advice for PAIS students is:
“As corny as it sounds; enjoy your time in your undergrad. Before you know it, you’ll open your eyes and you’ll be in your last year.”
As one of the main organizers, Eric’s favourite UR POLIS event is the Annual Policy Case Competition. Keep an eye out for applications during the winter semester!
