Lily is serving as the UR POLIS Treasurer this academic year and is full of fantastic event and student engagement ideas. She is one of the new executive members who is bringing great energy and a fresh perspective to the council.
Lily chose to major in PPE because she is passionate about addressing systemic issues present in society today. Her goal is to utilize her education to make an impact in her community by supporting efforts to uplift others' quality of life.
Outside of school, Lily keeps playing rec women's basketball and outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and swimming. When she is not working her two jobs or showing off her athletic abilities, she is reading up on history, politics, and philosophy.
Her favourite PAIS course so far is PPE 200, and will advocate for any major to check it out. As a model student, her advice to PAIS students is “to explore the topics that interest you, engage with your professors and peers by asking plenty of questions”.
Lily is most excited about this year’s Annual Policy Case Competition. Last year her team earned third place, and she highlighted PPE 200 being a significant factor in their success. A third of her team had taken it, she considers it yet another endorsement for the course!
