*Will be VP Internal and VP External if Amendment A passes.
Proposed Changes:
Amend Article 5.2 as follows:
Replace “Vice President” with “Vice President Internal”
Replace “VP Marketing” with “Vice President External”
The responsibilities currently outlined in:
Article 5.4 (Vice President) shall apply to the Vice President Internal
Article 5.5 (VP Marketing) shall apply to the Vice President External
Rationale:
This amendment clarifies and strengthens the executive structure by separating the Vice President role into two distinct portfolios: Internal and External.
The Vice President Internal will focus on internal operations, administration, and organizational continuity, working closely with the Treasurer and Secretary.
The Vice President External will focus on outreach, partnerships, communications, and external representation, working alongside communications roles and external stakeholders.
This structure reduces role overload, improves accountability, and ensures both internal management and external engagement receive appropriate attention. It also establishes a clearer leadership structure, where both Vice Presidents operate at equal standing under the President while supporting the broader executive team.
If passed this change will come into effect immediately.
Proposed Change:
Replace all references to “URSU” in the Constitution with “URSA,” and update wording where necessary to reflect the current student governance structure at the University of Regina.
Rationale:
URSU has been dissolved and replaced by URSA as the current student governing body. This amendment ensures the constitution reflects the correct institutional framework and maintains alignment with current governance standards.
